Thanks be to God for his indescribable gifts. “ ( Peace & Hope )
2 Corinthians 9:15

Reports are amazing because the councils share their gifts in a multitude of avenues and in their service to God and country. Just when you think that all their ideas have been exhausted, they awe you with their creativeness and outreach.
We continue to do many of the works that are a part of our yearly routine such as serving funeral luncheons, preparing celebrations for the children’s sacraments, council anniversaries and Spiritual Advisor’s milestones, visiting our sick, seniors and shut-ins, organizing World Day of Prayer, and celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel, only to mention a minimum.

The leadership team has played a vital role in planning and executing workshops for our executives, prayer services, meetings and of course the Provincial Convention which was a tremendous success. The main purpose behind new initiatives was to attract new members, maintain contact with seniors and to create changes that would provide more spiritual and social events. Mentoring enables effective participation of our sisters.
Topics for workshops also reflected new and old issues which are of concern to us such as Palliative Care, Euthanasia, Trafficking, current legislation bills, and resolutions. Letters on many issues were written including the rescinding of the Order of Canada to Dr. Henry Morgentaler.

Members have been supportive financially within their parishes, towards the diocese and many charities and causes such as Matercare, Buy – a – Net, Call of the Poor, Missions in Canada and Partners in Caring ( for a new hospital wing ).
At our spring meeting, we were awed by a presentation by the director of the new hospice in our diocese.  At our meeting we experimented with having mini workshops by each of the chairpersons which allowed for new information, and question and answer periods.

Our convention was held in Haliburton with the theme Love One Another. Our main speaker did a presentation on Interchurch Families. and an interactive workshop was given by our Past President and President on the theme “Living Stones “.
At our Fall Meeting a presentation on St. Paul was given to enlighten members on his life and missions. This was related to our current social issues and the problems that we face personally.

Our Communication chair sent out a fall and spring newsletter with reports, on National items, Provincial directives and articles that imparted the way we have Celebrated One Another and detailed the work of our “Living Stones “. . .
Our membership can be measured by the love that drives and guides them. May their journey continue on and when the train stops at each station, we will be among a gifted group with Our God in control of the engine.
