In Christ, there are many members but one body." Romans l2:5

This year has been a time of celebration and rejoicing as we marked both the 50'n Anniversary of the establishment of our Diocese and the founding of our Council. The CWL was represented on the Diocesan Anniversary Planning Committee- attended the Gala Dinner, and contributed to off set the expenses of the Diocesan Anniversary Mass. Nearly every parish council was represented at the Anniversary Mass evident in d1e stream of banners carried in procession. A Living Rosary and Victorian Tea were held, on the Feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel, as part of our anniversary celebration. The theme of the 50' Annual Diocesan Convention was Celebrate Our Communion Love One Another.  In Convention, our first in a series of Spiritual Advisor's Workshops was presented by Life Member Janice Deslauriers, guest speaker Sue Augustine addressed the topic of Living Stree-Free and President-Elect Shari Guinta presented a  thought provoking Workshop on "How to Be Mary in a Martha World."

Life membership was
awarded to Theresa Bujtas as she fulfilled the necessary criteria and requirements. We were blessed to have Fr. Hugh Gibson installed as our newly appointed Spiritual Advisor.

Our Annual Retreat held at
Mount Carmel, Niagara Falls was presented by Fr. Roger Bonneau, O.Carm and focused on the League Mission Statement. This was an attempt to help members gain a better understanding of the aims and objectives of the League. Diocesan Officers presented a successful Communication and Personal Development Workshop. Workshops to address Annual Reports and Election Procedures were presented at the Diocesan Executive meeting to aid in carrying out future requirements.

Our Teaching Mass Project was launched. We remain hopeful that we will eventually produce a DVD, which will meet approval, to assist those Pastors who may wish to use this resource.

Our Mission Sense/Cents Project raised awareness of Catholic Missions in Canada among
Councils.   More than $1,400.00, including our Convention Mass offerings, were collected and forwarded. Members, were requested to forward letters to the Governor General of Canada expressing their Disapproval of awarding the Order of Canada to Dr. Henry Mortgentaler.

Hospitality was provided, as requested, at Diocesan Mass receptions for the Special
Anniversaries, Rite of Election, Neophytes, Respect for Life, and our first ordination of Deacons.

Spring and Fall Conferences were held in all four regions.

"Project Hope" was launched in response to the Provincial Outreach initiative. We hope to
eliminate the use of small plastic water bottles, a real problem for local landfill sites, and assist
local missioners of "Wells of Hope" with funds for their purchase of drilling equipment to assist
the people in rural Guatemala to obtain safe drinking water.

We remain hopeful for the future as our efforts to increase membership have had positive results this year.
